As previously announced, the Embassy of Italy in Tehran resumed its activities on 19 June. Consular services will restart as soon as possible, applicants will be promptly informed once full operations are restored.
For Study Visas intended for university enrolment in the A. Y. 2026–2027, with the objective of simplifying the process and reducing the administrative burden upon candidates, applicants will not be required to book an appointment. Beginning Monday 29 June, the Embassy, through its official outsourcing provider – VisaMetric – will contact eligible students progressively by e-mail at the address registered on Universitaly, providing details of their scheduled appointment at the VisaMetric centre in Tehran. Appointment notifications will be issued following the verification of the regularity and confirmation of pre-enrolment applications.
In light of the closures established by the public security authorities in the city of Tehran from 4 to 6 July, and in order to allow applicants sufficient time to prepare the required documentation, appointments will be scheduled from Wednesday 8 July onwards.
For documentary requirements, please refer to the checklist attached to this page. Applicants are reminded of the importance of submitting all required documents in full at the time of application.
Students are advised to obtain a CIMEA Certificate in lieu of legalisation/Declaration of Value (DOV) procedures, as a means of expediting the relevant procedures. The CIMEA Certificate attests to both the comparability and the authenticity of prior academic qualifications.
Students are also informed that the Uni-Italia office in Tehran, located at the Italian School “Pietro della Valle”, is available to provide guidance on degree programmes, available places, scholarships, and further opportunities, as well as assistance with university admission and pre-enrolment applications and with all procedural and documentary steps required for university enrolment in Italy (email: iran@uni-italia.it – Instagram: uni_italia_iran).
